I researched and designed this tea towel that gives a potted history of women in Australia utilising strikes in the fight towards equal pay.
Long before the Women's Liberation movement of the 1960s women in Australia were withdrawing their labour in the fight for better pay and conditions. Today, our right to strike in Australia is continually under attack. This tea towel is a celebration of radical women in Australia and a reminder of this immense power that we have as workers.
The tea towel is made by KE Design - "Our tea towels are proudly cut, dyed, printed and overlocked by a combination of skilled and special needs workers, who work side by side at our Brunswick production facility."
